According to the Asian Skin Foundation, 28% of the asian population suffers with acne and 95% of acne sufferers say it impacts their daily lives. Even once acne has completely healed and is no longer active, it can still leave behind visible, permanent scarring. The good news is, there are a number of innovative treatments available to help improve the appearance of acne scarring. At Dermaglow skin clinic in & near Gurugram we are able to offer expert advice from our qualified doctors, plus proven-effective treatments to address acne scarring. Acne scarring is caused by the body effectively putting ‘too much effort’ into healing the wounds caused by acne, causing an excess of collagen built up in the skin. This collagen may stay in place permanently, creating acne scarring.

Our treatments
Medical Grade Chemical Peels use an enzymatic solution to improve and smooth the texture of the skin by removing its damaged outer layers. Doing so helps to reduce acne caused by blocked pores meanwhile smoothing the texture and therefore appearance of the skin. With varying strengths of peel, there is something for almost all skin types.
Spectra Peel is a highly effective laser acne treatment and virtually painless. Its action is two-pronged.
First, it works on your acne deep in that important layer of skin known as the dermis, promoting cell regeneration and reducing inflammation. Then it treats the active acne on the surface by gently eliminating dead skin cells, clearing plugged pores, shrinking oil-producing glands and stimulating new skin growth.
You will likely need to start with six Spectra Peel sessions and then visit us two or three times a year for maintenance sessions.
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) skin treatment is a natural therapy utilising your body’s own blood to promote skin healing. The natural chemicals in PRP generated from your own blood are applied to the face and micro-needled into the skin during a short procedure. Using the healing effects of your body’s own plasma and the essential chemicals provided in the PRP formula allows accelerated promotion of skin rejuvenation, tightening and smoothing where you want it most.
Utilising state of the art gold plated microneedle technology, we are able to deliver heat into the surface of the skin in safe and short time frames. Shorter treatment time means more efficiency and less discomfort for you. By providing uniform heat under the skin dermis, collagen production is stimulated leading to renewed skin growth.
The best pre-treatment for severe cases of acne.
Medi-facials (based on chemical peels) and LED therapy combine to eliminate bacteria that trigger inflammation. This approach also reduces the size of your pores, stabilises oil production and stimulates the growth of healthy cells.
You will see visible results as your troublesome breakouts, congestion and blackheads will clear, improving your overall appearance.

Our treatments
Available in both Dermapen and Intensif RF technology, needling involves the application of multiple sterile needles into the skin’s surface with an automated vibration. This stimulates natural collagen reproduction and also creates fine channels for the increased delivery (up to 80%) of topical nutrients and skin aiding products.
Without very little side effects or downtime, needling is more effective than most microdermabrasion procedures or chemical peels in the treatment of scar reduction as well as skin tightening and rejuvenation.
For those not adverse to needles, steroid injections will help to flatten scar surfaces by reducing inflammation in the area. There is also the ability to inject botox to the scar site which will allow the mucles pulling the scar tissue to relax and loosen their grip on the stretched scar tissue.

Injectable dermal fillers can be used to treat acne scars by injecting a small quantity under the deflated skin to lift the area, therefore, removing the pitted look.
It works by plumping up the acne scar and indentation which in turn evens out the skin surface to reduce the appearance of below surface scars. Injection of dermal fillers gives the most immediate and impactful results of our scar treatments with long lasting effects.

Scars are part of the skin’s natural healing process after it has been damaged and in the case of acne, are caused by picking at spots on the face. Most acne scars will fade on their own, however for persistent scarring, we offer a range of treatments to reduce the appearance of scarring such as fractional laser resurfacing and medical skin needling.
Cases of acne scarring differ from person to person, with several treatment options, available such as laser resurfacing, dependent on the case. We suggest consulting our dermatologists who have years of experience in the assessment, diagnosis and removal of acne scars. An appointment with one of our trusted experts is likely to be the most effective way to treat your acne scarring.
Acne affects most people at some point during their lives and will usually go away on its own, however, acne that is very disfiguring, scarring or long-standing is classed as severe, and requires stronger treatment than mild cases.

The acne scarring treatments we offer are effective for most people. If there are any issues with your suitability for treatment, a doctor or nurse will talk this through during your consultation and will discuss alternatives.
No, you will have to wait to begin your acne scarring treatment until your acne is not active, and your skin is relatively clear. Having treatment could irritate your acne which can often be painful and leave your skin feeling sensitive.
In most cases the results will be permanent. However if you suffer from acne again after having acne scarring treatment, there is a risk that new scars will form and you will require further treatment.
Before we can answer that, it’s important to determine the type of scarring you have, which we will do in your consultation. It is essential we wait until your skin is almost clear of acne to begin treatment. As an example, many of our clients see great results from microneedling where a course of 3 is required at monthly intervals, so you may be looking at a minimum of 3 months to see any substantial results. With laser resurfacing, many clients experience amazing results after just 1 treatment.
During most laser or microneedling/dermapen treatments, there can be very mild discomfort, but we can apply topical anaesthetic cream if necessary. As laser resurfacing removes the epidermis, the thin top layer of the skin, to encourage collagen production, this can cause some discomfort. However we do use numbing cream on the area to minimise any discomfort.
